Resident Evil Village for iPhone 15 Pro and iPad Launches October 30th, Pricing Revealed During TGS 2023 Stream

During its TGS 2023 stream, Capcom showcased the Following upcoming ports revealed during the Apple iPhone 15 event. Capcom also announced pricing for the mobile (and macOS in the case of the former) ports of Resident Evil 4 Remake and Resident Evil Village during the stream. While the games will be free to start, they will have a one time in app purchase to unlock the full game. The pricing for Japan revealed in the stream below matches the game’s price on Steam in both cases. If we assume Capcom keeps the same price for other regions, you can expect Resident Evil 4 Remake to be priced at $59.99 for its unlock. The Japanese release on Apple platforms will be 7,990 Yen which is the same as the Steam price. For Resident Evil Village, launching October 30th, the game’s unlock will likely be priced at $39.99 since the Japanese price revealed in the stream is 4,990 Yen which matches the Steam price. Watch footage from the games being played on iPad and more below:

It is worth noting that the DLC for both Resident Evil 4 Remake and Resident Evil Village will be a separate purchase going by the stream. I assume the newly-released Separate Ways for Resident Evil 4 Remake will be $9.99 while the Winters’ Expansion will be $19.99 for Resident Evil Village. Capcom’s stream above also mentioned that you can customize the buttons and placement of touch controls as you like. While I will likely use a Backbone One or Kishi to play these on iPhone, I always test out touch controls in a mobile port so I’m interested to see how it ends up working. Check out a screengrab from the stream showing customized sizes for touch controls below:

If you’ve not followed both of these releases after the Apple event, Resident Evil 4 Remake and Resident Evil Village were originally confirmed for iPhone 15 Pro, but Capcom also confirmed that Resident Evil 4 Remake will come to macOS and iPadOS devices with an M1 or better. Resident Evil Village is already available on macOS, so the iOS and iPadOS release will be a single purchase when it arrives this year with support for M1 iPads and better.

Check out the official website for these ports here. Resident Evil 4 Remake is due this year for iPhone 15 Pro, iPad (M1 and later) models, and macOS. Resident Evil Village releases on October 30th for iOS and iPadOS. On the App Store, both games will be a free download with a one time in app purchase to access the full game. The games will support on screen controls, game controllers, multi-touch, HDR, and more when they launch on Apple devices. Resident Evil 4 Remake will have cross progression on iOS, iPadOS, and macOS while Resident Evil Village will have cross progression on iPadOS and iOS only. What do you think of the ports based on the new gameplay and pricing?
