Even in the wonderful world of anime, crimes can be committed. While it can be exciting to see what a vigilante can do in a good story, we also have to recognize the many detectives and police officers out there. Anime news website Anime!Anime! held a survey to find out who comes to mind as a police character, so get ready for the results!

It looks like we can already call Detective Conan a winner for occupying almost half of the list so far! But who made it to the final three?

3. Kankichi Ryotsu, KochiKame: Tokyo Beat Cops

In third place with 8% of the vote is Kankichi Ryotsu, the chaotic hero of retro police series KochiKame: Tokyo Beat Cops! Fans loved his larger than life personality and the way he genuinely cares about the town.

2. Rei Furuya (Toru Amuro), Detective Conan

Detective Conan’s triple agent Rei Furuya, otherwise known as Toru Amuro or by his undercover code name Bourbon, is second with 10% of the vote. Fans were impressed by his complicated identity juggling - and let's be honest, who wouldn't be?

Finally, the winner with 13% of the vote is... drumroll... Hypnosis Mic’s Jyuto Iruma! In contrast to the rest of the list, fans seemed to have really taken to his shady connections with yakuza along with the incongruity of a serving police officer performing as part of a rap group.
