TouchArcade Game of the Week: ‘Station 117’

I’m a big fan of Glitch Games and their unique brand of point-and-click adventure/escape room/puzzle games, and while they’re a tiny outfit and there’d typically be a couple years gap in-between their new releases, they were always worth the wait. However, following the release of Another Tomorrow this past February, their most recent “big" game, there’s been a renewed focus on releasing smaller-scale games more frequently, and that has led to TWO additional releases this year. First was Incoherence back in June, which was our Game of the Week back then, and now before the year is even out comes Station 117 which, as you can guess, is our Game of the Week pick right now.

I’m not going to pretend that this isn’t more of the same, because it is, but darn it that’s pretty much what I’m looking for. Glitch Games has a way of creating great atmosphere in their games, and their puzzles, while sometimes quite obtuse, are always satisfying and feel within reach. And of course there’s their Glitch Camera, which makes solving the various puzzles in each of their games both more convenient and more fun. Station 117 offers more cool world-building and more fun puzzles, all in a smaller-scale package with an extremely affordable price to match. I have no complaints about any of this, and in fact I’d be perfectly happy if 2023 was filled with more small-scale games from Glitch launching every few months or so.
