At the Ubisoft Forward showcase that had many announcements across platforms including Netflix and Ubisoft partnering for three exclusive games, Ubisoft also announced a brand new Assassin’s Creed game for mobile in the form of Assassin’s Creed Codename JADE. Assassin’s Creed Codename JADE is an open world AAA RPG action adventure game featuring character creation, iconic Assassin’s Creed gameplay, and more optimized for touch controls. The showcase also mentions intense combat, discovering the secrets of ancient China, and more. You can watch an in-engine showcase of Assassin’s Creed Codename JADE from 1:51:40 onwards below:
The short trailer in the showcase above looks great, but hopefully Ubisoft showcases gameplay from Assassin’s Creed Codename JADE soon. The trailer ends with a “coming soon" banner, but I don’t expect it soon considering we haven’t seen any gameplay and just have an in-engine trailer. Senior Analyst at Niko Partners Daniel Ahmad says the game has been in developed for over 3 years now and is a part of Tencent and Ubisoft’s partnership to bring more of the latter’s IP to mobile in China and the rest of the world. I loved Origins and Odyssey from the recent games, and have barely made a dent into Valhalla and its DLC, but will be checking out Assassin’s Creed Codename JADE when we get to actually play it. What do you think of the showcase for it and the other announcements from Ubisoft Forward?
